Patni develops Electronic Identification Verifier for leading financial services firm

The Client

The Challenge

The client wanted to develop a secure and stable application for the electronic identification verifier process of Internet applicants for its private label credit card customers. With increasing identity theft incidents, the client also wanted this application to stop True Name fraud. True Name fraud occurs when an identity thief uses a victim’s data to open new accounts, and uses this account to make large purchases.

With trust of vital importance in the credit card industry, the client wanted to develop an application which fulfilled the following parameters:

	Ability to quickly verify the identity of thousands of Internet applicants
	Greater flexibility for adding new functionality plug-ins
	Ability to stop True Name fraud
	Ability to easily and quickly deploy the application across the globe specifically for new launches
	Low cost of maintenance.

The Solution

Patni made a detailed assessment and quickly ramped up a team of trained J2EE resources to meet the client’s desired objectives. After meticulously gathering requirements, an object oriented design of the new improved system was created

A comprehensive test plan was prepared by taking into account different financial oriented business filters. Patni was also responsible for providing multilingualization support. The whole application was developed with an 85% offshore
leverage, which translated into significant cost benefits for the client. Patni delivered the product by completely meeting First-time Right and On Time delivery SLAs. This was done by leveraging Six Sigma processes.
