The Client

3G operator brings media

delivery of wireless mobile
data, voice, and video to a
global, wireless subscriber
base. The company is a global
provider of 3G content rich
services, currently operating its
service networks in 9 countries
across Europe and Asia.
The Challenge
Delivering on the full promise of the 3G wireless services is an endeavor whose
success relies on technical innovation, creative business models and service
delivery and operational excellence.
The complexity of providing 3G services on a network infrastructure based on new
and emerging technologies makes this operator's ability to orchestrate its core
business processes in a seamless end-user experience, across a large set of business
support applications, essential to its success. The client requested Patni to:

Build from ground-up the IT infrastructure including setting the entire
network to support its comprehensive wireless 3G services offerings |

Provide a rich and diversified set of content products (music, web pages,
video), in highly personalized and country specific format |

Deploy, implement and integrate a large number of OSS/BSS applications in
support of a coherent set of fully automated, zero-touch Customer Order
Management, Service Registration and Activation and Billing business

Build a Tibco-based business integration platform for the client's OSS/BSS
applications |

Full ownership for all enterprise application development, including
architecture and strategy definition, program management, development,
testing and production deployment, and post-production support |

Delivery of the business integration services in a shared-risk, costoptimized,
and hybrid onsite-offshore engagement model. |
The Solution
The client partnered with Patni for a wide range of business integration services for its mission critical
3G business support systems platform, starting from the initial stages of its operations in late 2001,
with Patni currently being the sole systems integrator for all the enterprise application integration
developments.
Patni has deployed a large cross-functional team in a hybrid onsite and offshore, shared-risk delivery
model, providing all the technical and functional expertise required to essentially program manage,
design, build, test and rollout in production a very complex Tibco-based business integration
solution.
Patni utilized Tibco's business integration platform to build a sophisticated world-class solution for
managing the client's end-to-end mission-critical business processes, across a large number and
variety of wireless OSS/BSS enterprise applications.
